Seminar on cultivating foreign-related and comprehensive intellectual property high-end talents

Recently, to implement the comprehensive education reform and deepen the cultivation of intellectual property talents, Shanghai International College of Intellectual Property held a seminar on the cultivation of foreign-related and extensive high-end intellectual property talents and a unique career talk on intellectual property. Dr. Lei Xinghui, Vice President of Tongji University, attended the seminar and delivered a speech. Representatives from 38 functional departments, including government management, judicial practice, and service organizations, participated in the workshop. The relevant responsible persons of the school's Career Guidance Center and Graduate School, the leadership team of the College, and the directors of each teaching and research department attended the seminar.

Shanghai High People's Court, Shanghai People's s Procuratorate, Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration, Shanghai Arbitration Commission, Huawei, iFLYTEK, NIO, Zhong Lun Law firm, King & Wood Mallesons, Allbright Law firm, and other entities made keynote speeches. The experts discussed four major topics, including the social demand for high-level comprehensive IP talents, cultivation of foreign-related IP talents, curriculum setting of IP practice, and social responsibility of practical mentors.

At the seminar, six entities, including Unisoc (Shanghai) Technologies Co., Ltd., Unitalen Attorneys at Law, Shanghai Beshining Law Office, Shanghai Boss & Young Attorneys at Law, Chofn Chinese IP Services, and iFuture Intellectual Property Consulting (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., were granted practice training bases. 32 experts and heads of intellectual property departments from the Shanghai People's Procuratorate, iFLYTEK, NIO, Zhong Lun Law firm, King & Wood Mallesons, and Sixlens Company were appointed as practical mentors. Mr. Mohsin Ali, a student from the WIPO-Tonji MIP Program spoke in the workshop.

This seminar is an attempt of SICIP to actively explore the path and solution for the cultivation of high-end international talents in intellectual property under the background of deepening the reform of postgraduate education. The College will optimize the organizational mechanism, innovate the cultivation method, and accelerate the construction of a dynamic, efficient, more open, and conducive institutional tool for discipline development and talent cultivation in terms of top-level design, faculty construction, curriculum setting, etc., to realize multi-party linkage and resource sharing. The College will also establish closer cooperation in talent exchange and internship practice, respond to the demand for talents in the practical sector, optimize the training program, cultivate skills that can participate in global management with cross-cultural communication ability and interdisciplinary knowledge background, improve students' abilities in five aspects including value identity, mindset, personality traits, communication ability, and professional knowledge, and build an IP professional community. Ltd., iFuture Intellectual Property Consulting (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., etc., and science and technology leading enterprises including Unisoc (Shanghai) Technologies Co., Ltd. held special career talks in 1002 Conference Hall and posted relevant internship and employment positions.
