Martha Chikowore
Martha Chikowore (Ms.) is Acting Head, Academic Institutions and Executive Program in the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Academy since February 2023. She was Counsellor from January 2018 to January 2023; Training Officer and Consultant in the WIPO Academy from 2003 to 2017. She specializes in human resources and skills development in the field of intellectual property (IP), in particular, the WIPO Joint Masters’ Degree programs with universities globally and the WIPO-WTO Colloquia for teachers and researchers of IP. Prior to joining WIPO, she was a civil servant with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) of Zimbabwe. She served in the MoFA with stints at the country’s diplomatic missions in Tokyo, Japan; New York, USA and Geneva, Switzerland. She is a PhD candidate (Trademark Law) who holds an LL.M. in IP; MBA, and BA in Business Management.
Martha Chikowore co-published the Intellectual Property Monograph on Zimbabwe (2018 & 2013): a monograph which is an integral part of IP in the International Encyclopedia of Laws series. She authored a chapter in a book on Intellectual Property Law, Practice and Management published by Africa University (2018).
