The Advanced Seminar on Enterprise Trademark Disputes and Protection was successfully held in SICIP

From September 6 to 8, 2020, Shanghai International College of Intellectual Property of Tongji University held an advanced seminar on enterprise trademark disputes and protection. This seminar was supported by the Personnel Department of the National Intellectual Property Administration of China (CNIPA) and held by the National Intellectual Property Training (Shanghai) Base and the Shanghai International College of Intellectual Property of Tongji University.


This seminar combines expert lectures and trainees’ discussions and exchanges. Senior experts and well-known scholars from intellectual property administrative law enforcement agencies, customs enforcement, and judicial departments are invited as lecturers, focusing on teaching and discussing hot issues of trademark infringement and trademark customs enforcement. The practice, infringement judgment standard, trademark civil judicial protection theory and practice, trademark use behavior and infringement judgment, etc. have been welcomed and approved by intellectual property practitioners from different areas.


At the opening ceremony, Associate Professor Yu Xinmiao, the deputy dean of the Shanghai International College of Intellectual Property of Tongji University, gave a warm welcome to the students and introduced the background and development of the Shanghai International College of Intellectual Property of Tongji University.


Prof. Lu Guoqiang, the former director of the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration (SIPA), introduced the current status of WIPO's international intellectual property protection and development around the WIPO 2020 Global Innovation Index report.


Associate Professor Yang Hong of Shanghai International College of Intellectual Property of Tongji University combined the case and analyzed the law and typical cases of trademark infringement judgment with the students.


Mr. Xu Feng, the Deputy Director of Shanghai Customs Integrated Services Department, explained the practice of Shanghai Customs trademark enforcement based on practical experience and raised hot issues in intellectual property research.


Mr. Tang Zhen, the Deputy Chief of the Intellectual Property Division of the Shanghai High People’s Court, shared the relevant content of Analysis on the Application of Law in Trademark Infringement Litigation, conducted a detailed analysis of the key and difficult issues in Shanghai’s trademark enforcement practice in recent years, and answered the proposed questions.


Ms. Gu Huirong, the Director of the Intellectual Property Protection Division of the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration (SIPA), explained the specific content of my country's Trademark Infringement Judgment Standards based on practical cases in the Trademark Infringement Judgment.


Associate Professor Zhang Huaiyin of Shanghai International College of Intellectual Property of Tongji University gave an in-depth explanation of the three-element determination method of trademark use with the theme of Trademark Use Behavior and Trademark Infringement Identification.


Finally, Prof. Song Xiaoting, the Chairman of College Council, SICIP, Ms. Lin Min, the Deputy Chairman of College Council, SICIP, and Associate Professor Zhang Huaiyin, the Deputy Director of the Training Base, jointly issued certificates to the students.


The trainees said that although the time is limited, the content is very novel and rich. Thanks to the seminars organized by the Shanghai International College of Intellectual Property of Tongji University, and hope that the Shanghai International College of Intellectual Property of Tongji University can offer more training opportunities for the society.


In recent years, under the guidance of the National Intellectual Property Administration of China (CNIPA) and Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration (SIPA), the Shanghai International College of Intellectual Property of Tongji University has further actively implemented the national intellectual property strategy, and continued to improve the training of intellectual property talents. Relying on the excellent teaching resources of the WIPO class and the One Belt One Road class, SICIP undertakes multiple training tasks for the National Intellectual Property Administration of China (CNIPA) and Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration (SIPA) each year, and trained more than 1,000 students, making outstanding contributions to the cultivation of intellectual property talents. In the future, Shanghai International College of Intellectual Property of Tongji University will continue to held intellectual property talent training, academic research and international exchange activities around the central task of innovation-driven, transformational development to promote the development of Shanghai's intellectual property industry.
