Three professors from Shanghai International College of Intellectual Property were elected as members of the Fourth National Intellectual Property Expert Advisory Committee.

On September 15, 2020, the National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) held the 4th National Intellectual Property Expert Advisory Committee opening meeting and advanced seminar in Beijing. Prof. Shan Xiaoguang, the dean of SICIP, Prof. Zhu Xuezhong, and Associate Professor Yu Xinmiao, the deputy dean of SICIP, were elected as members of the 4th National Intellectual Property Expert Advisory Committee. Mr. Shen Changyu, the Chairman of Party Council, CNIPA and the Commissioner of National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), issued letters of appointment to the members of the Advisory Committee. The seminar was organized around the Intellectual Property "14th Five-Year Plan" and discussed the direction and trend of China's intellectual property development in the next five years. The major intellectual property projects and programs implemented during the period.


According to the CNIPA, the first National Intellectual Property Expert Advisory Committee was established in July 2010. In order to study and implement Xi Jinping’s thoughts on socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era and the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the CPC, the second, third and fourth plenary sessions of the 19th National Congress of the CPC, implement the plans and deployments of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on intellectual property work, and adapt to the new situation to speed up the building of a strong country with intellectual property rights, the National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) decided to establish the 4th National Intellectual Property Expert Advisory Committee, composed of Ms. Lu Wei, the member of the Standing Committee of the 11th, 12th and 13th National People’s Congress(NPC), Prof. Xue Qikun, the academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the vice president of Tsinghua University, Prof. Fang Xin, the former deputy chairman of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and other 55 well-known experts and scholars, including 10 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 7 government department leaders, 8 research institution experts, and 7 corporate executives. There are 5 local experts, 13 university scholars, and 5 intellectual property service industry experts. The committee structure has been further optimized. While fully covering the field of intellectual property rights, experts from the economy, aerospace, internet and other national key industries have joined. In the future, the Fourth National Intellectual Property Advisory Committee will continue to play the role of a high-level think tank, closely follow the needs of innovation and development, strengthen research on major intellectual property theoretical and policy issues, and provide more powerful intellectual support and guarantee for the construction of an intellectual property power.
