Recently, Mr. Mohsin Ali has been selected by WIPO for a “Young Expert Program” at the WIPO Headquarters, Geneva, Switzerland. The selection process of the YEP is extremely competitive as WIPO selected 11 young experts from all around the world from the 193 member countries. The objective of YEP is to train the next generation of global IP leaders to help build innovation ecosystems around the world. Through this 2-year program, young and talented individuals will be groomed to not only understand the technical aspects of IP but also apply them in practice, to make an impact in their countries and regions. To be selected as the “Young Expert” is a huge achievement and honor for Ali but also for SICIP and his country as well.
Mr. Mohsin Ali who is a young IP professional from Pakistan. He is working as Assistant Director of Intellectual Property and as a focal point for the Technology & Innovation Support Center (TISC) at the National University of Sciences and Technology, Islamabad, Pakistan. He is also working as Intellectual Property Specialist at the National Sciences and Technology Park (NSTP) which has several SMEs, startups, and young R&D companies. Ali has special expertise and interest in the areas of new emerging technologies and international IP law.
In 2019, Ali was selected by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Geneva for WIPO’s fully funded master’s degree at the SICIP, Tongji University, China. This is a joint master’s degree program of WIPO and Tongji. His tutor is Associate Professor Jiang Nan. Ali has tried to complete his master’s degree with distinction and always passionately participated in curriculum and extra-curriculum activities at the SICIP.
