On June 29th, the Workshop of WIPO-Tongji and Chinese Government IP Master Students was held successfully at the Shanghai International College of Intellectual Property. Ms. Martha Chikowore from WIPO academy, Dr. Matthias Lamping from Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition, famous experts from the Chinese Academy of Social Science, Fudan University, East China University of Political Science and Law, all professors from SICIP provided comments during the workshop. The workshop was divided into four groups, namely, the basic IP Theory group, the IP Law group, the IP Economics group, and the International IP group. The report was conducted by combining the offline conference room with the online zoom platform.

All Chinese students of WIPO-Tongji MIP in Design and international students, from more than ten countries, such as Russia, Pakistan，Mongolia, Laos, etc. presented their research proposal, including the research questions, methodology, contribution, and current progress. The topics not only included the question in copyright, patent, trademark, competition law, but also related to inter-discipline issues in medicine IP protection, IP management and economics, and some other hot cutting issues such as AI, big data, and Internet copyright.

Every professor and expert provided professional comments on students' presentations and following research，such as thesis topic and feasibility, the correctness of study method, the method of reading judicial decisions, and legal expressions in English.

This workshop is the mid-term evaluation for master students, as well as a nice communication chance among students, professors, and experts. Students have received constructive comments and suggestions, which will be very important and helpful for the following thesis writing. Since 2018, SICIP has held the workshop of international IP Master Program Students at the end of course study every year, inviting famous professors at home and abroad, which has been highly praised by WIPO, etc.
