From October 16th to 18th, 2019, the “Training Course of Basic Service by Intellectual Property Experts”, organized by the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) and undertaken by the National Intellectual Property Training Base (Shanghai) and the Shanghai International College of Intellectual Property (SICIP), was successfully held at Tongji University. The training course invited a host of scholars and experts in intellectual property to give lecturers. At the opening ceremony, Prof. Jiang Nan, the Deputy Chairman of College Council, SICIP, delivered a speech and welcomed the arrival of the participants.

The main content of the training course includes the boundaries between the civil and criminal liability of patent operation, theory and practice of patent operation, analyses on policies, and legislations of patent transformation. Prof. Zhang Huaiyin, the Deputy Director of the National Intellectual Property Training Base (Shanghai), taught students about the legal boundary issue of the patent operation. Mr. Huang Pengfei, the former Director of Shanghai Intellectual Property Service Center, gave lectures on the knowledge and experience of “Patent Operation Theory and Practice in Shanghai”. Mr. Wu Shouren, the Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of the Shanghai Institute of Planned Parenthood Research and the former Director of the System Reform and Regulation Department of the Shanghai Science and Technology Committee, delivered a speech with the theme of “Policies and Legislations of Patent Transformation in Shanghai”.

The students said that the content of the training course was very novel and rich. They were obliged to SICIP of Tongji University for organizing the training courses and hoped that SICIP can provide more training courses for the society in the future.
