On September 27, 2019, Seminars on Legal Issues of Artificial Intelligence was held in Shanghai International College of Intellectual Property of Tongji University. Specialists and scholars, postdoctoral researchers, and doctoral candidates came from Shanghai International College of Intellectual Property of Tongji University, China-EU Innovation Policy and Law Research Center of Tongji University, School of Electronics and Information Engineering of Tongji University and Shanghai Branch of Beijing Unitalen Law Office participated in the discussion.
The seminar focused on "Protection of Enterprise Data" and "Legal Status of Artificial Intelligence". The conference explained and discussed the protection model of the existing enterprise data rights and interests. Besides, the conference discussed the defects of the aforementioned protection model and the construction of relevant protection channels. Li Wenhong, Director of the Shanghai Branch of Beijing Unitalen Law Office, combed the existing literature in detail on the legal status of artificial intelligence. Teachers and students from the School of Electronics and Information Engineering of Tongji University elaborated on the relevant technical principles of artificial intelligence, automatic driving, and other related technologies at the conference. All the conference participants had a heated discussion around the issues of technology development and legal regulation and expressed their opinions on the legal regulation problems in the development of the artificial intelligence industry nowadays.
Artificial intelligence was an important driving force of the new round of scientific-technological revolution and industrial transformation. It was important to perfect the guarantee of an artificial intelligence system, prevent the AI-related risks, and solve the legal disputes of artificial intelligence. The discussion of "Protection of Enterprise Data" and "Legal Status of Artificial Intelligence" in this meeting was the implementation of research ideas established in the first Seminar on Legal Issues of Artificial Intelligence before, which laid a foundation for the subsequent research.
