On September 13, 2019, Prof. Joe Bradley, the Head of Academic Institution Program of WIPO Academy, invited by Shanghai International College of Intellectual Property, arrived at Tongji University and gave a lecture on the “Activities of World Intellectual Property Organization”. Some teachers and students of WIPO-Tongji MIP in Design and The Belt and Road MIP participated in the lecture.

Prof. Joe Bradley introduced the decision-making body and intellectual property services in the WIPO. Then he discussed with teachers and students about the WIPO, patent right, copyright, trademark, the infrastructures and development of intellectual property rights, and other related issues.

The WIPO Academy is an excellent global center for intellectual property education and training. It serves a broad target audience through a series of intellectual property course. In recent years, aiming at promoting worldwide high-quality intellectual property education and training, WIPO has carried out a range of fruitful work, including professional development, university cooperation, distance education, summer school and so on.

It is noted that Tongji University is the only university in China (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) that cooperates with WIPO in the way of WIPO-TONGJI Master Degree Program in IP Law with Specialization in Design. Each year, Shanghai International College of Intellectual Property of Tongji University selects a certain number of outstanding students to WIPO headquarters for internship, which has been widely praised.
