From August 24th to 26th, 2019, Prof. Song Xiaoting, Prof. Jiang Li, and four doctoral students of SICIP were invited to participate in the 3rd China (Xingren) Coix Seed Expo — 2019 International Coix Seed Culture and Industry Development Forum held in Xingren City, Guizhou Province. They discussed the strategy for taking advantage of a local superior farm - products to help farmers get rid of poverty and offered advice on how to make use of the coix seed industry to achieve rural revitalization in Guizhou Province.

“Coix Seed Culture of Medicine and Food Forum” was presided over by Prof. Song Xiaoting. He proposed strategies and ideas on how to utilize intellectual property rights to achieve targeted poverty reduction and rural revitalization. Deputy Prof. Jiang Li analyzed some leading issues in rural revitalization from the perspective of international intellectual property law. Doctoral students of SICIP delivered speeches related to “Coix Seed Patent Technology” respectively. Wei Mang, the Deputy mayor of Xingren City, who participated in the Forum, highly praised and gave opinions of teachers and students of our college, and said that he would further cooperate with our colleagues in the next-phase work.

It is reported that the teachers and students of SICIP have been engaged in the protection of intellectual property rights of medicine in the south-east of Guizhou Province, and consecutively participated in the Coix Seed Industry Development and Protection Forum in Xingren City, Guizhou Province. Besides, they have applied the research results of major national social science projects to improve the originality and competitiveness of intellectual property in the industrial economy of rural areas.
