On May 13, 2020, Dr. Klaus Bacher, the Chief Judge of the Intellectual Property Division of the German Federal Court of Justice gave an online lecture to Chinese and international students of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) program and the “Belt and Road” program in SICIP.

The topic of the lecture given by Judge Klaus Bacher was "Overview of European Intellectual Property Enforcement". The main contents of the lecture included: Introduction to EU Law and Laws of EU Member States, Composition of the European Judicial System, Main Remedies for Intellectual Property Infringement, Enforcement of Court Judgement, Collection and Adaption of Evidence, Calculation of Damage and Compensation, Development of New Cases, etc.

As a senior judge of intellectual property, Klaus Bacher introduced the whole process of IP cases from filing to closing under the legal system of the EU and Germany. Students gained a thorough understanding of the system structure and historical development of the EU intellectual property law. As one part of the special course on Enforcement of IP, this lecture enriched the content of this module, expanded the students' international visions, thus was widely welcomed by the teachers and students of SICIP.
