On April 28, 2020, Dr. Mao Jinsheng, the Director-General of the Intellectual Property Protection Department of the National Intellectual Property Administration give a lecture on “Improving the Intellectual Property Protection System and Enhancing China’s Economic Competitiveness” for the 43rd issue of “Voice of SICIP”. The meeting was conducted on the Internet via video. Prof. Song Xiaoting, the Chairman of College Council, SICIP, Prof. Shan Xiaoguang, the Dean of SICIP, Prof. Zhu Xuezhong, Prof. Mao Hao, Deputy Prof. Yu Xinmiao and Associate Prof. Dang Jianwei attended the meeting. Some teachers and students from Fudan University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Shanghai University, East China University of Political Science and Law , East China University of Science and Technology, as representatives of intellectual property disciplines in the same city, participated in the seminar.

During the lecture, Dr. Mao Jinsheng made policy interpretations  on the “Guideline on Strengthening Intellectual Property Rights Protection” ,issued by the General Office of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council and explained the strategic deployment of national intellectual property protection. At the same time, the participants discussed how to discover and study the key and difficult issues of intellectual property protection in the process of scientific research and teaching.

The “Voice of SICIP” is an organic component of the “Pyramid Project” implemented by the SICIP for the training of intellectual property high-end talent. Well-known experts and scholars at home and abroad are invited to give lectures on relevant topics, and they are open to collaborative universities in the same city. The successful holding of the “Voice of SICIP” has provided an important reference for teachers and students of SICIP to understand the national intellectual property protection priorities and to consolidate the direction of intellectual property teaching and research in universities.
