On May 10, Gong Peihua, Deputy Procurator of the Shanghai People's Procuratorate, was invited to the Lecture of SICIP. He delivered a report titled “Overview of the Intellectual Property Protection System and Prosecutorial Work.”
Deputy Procurator Gong Peihua discussed the development and changes of intellectual property prosecutorial work from three aspects: intellectual property legislation, administrative protection, and judicial protection. He introduced the construction of the intellectual property protection system, the general situation, framework, and development path of intellectual property prosecutorial work, and emphasized the role and functions of the prosecutorial authority in intellectual property protection. He also elaborated on how prosecutorial duties contribute to the high-quality creation, efficient utilization, high-level protection, and high-quality management services of intellectual property.
The Shanghai People's Procuratorate has always valued its cooperation with Tongji University. A select group of prosecutors with strong political qualities, outstanding professional capabilities, and excellent foreign language skills have been carefully chosen as part of the teaching team. Together with Tongji University, they have developed course outlines and conducted joint lesson preparations, aiming to enhance the training of high-end, interdisciplinary legal talents in the field of international intellectual property law.
The Overview of Intellectual Property Prosecutorial Work course module includes four topics: Overview of the Intellectual Property Protection System, Overview of Intellectual Property Prosecutorial Work, Development Trends in Intellectual Property Prosecutorial Work, and Development Path of Intellectual Property Prosecutorial Work in Shanghai. These topics comprehensively present the intellectual property prosecutorial work in Shanghai. The first session of this course was taught by Deputy Procurator General Gong Peihua, Director of the Fourth Prosecutorial Department Gu Xiaojun, and Director of the Twelfth Prosecutorial Department Xie Fei.
