“Career and Internship Opportunities at the World Intellectual Property Organization” Seminar Was Held by the SICIP

On May 31st, 2022, at 15:00, the SICIP held an online seminar on the theme of “Career and Internship Opportunities at the World Intellectual Property Organization (hereinafter referred to as ‘WIPO’)”. The seminar was hosted by Associate Professor YU Xinmiao, Executive Deputy Dean of the SICIP. Ms. Martha Chikowore, Counsellor of WIPO Academy, and Ms. Raluca Maxim, Coordinator of WIPO Human Resources Management Department, were invited to present WIPO job opportunities and recruitment requirements. Nearly one hundred teachers, students and alumni participated in this seminar.

Ms. Martha Chikowore provided an overview of WIPO’s employment and annual job applications, including the composition of employees, working arrangements and development plans. Ms. Raluca Maxim introduced the target population, recruitment requirements, career characteristics and program processes of different recruiting programs.

After the introduction session, the participants had a lively exchange and interaction with the two guests on specific issues such as the promotion system, application process, interview skills, etc.The participants benefited greatly from this seminar and they expressed their desire to study and work at WIPO in the future.

In late July 2021, WIPO and Tongji University signed the updated Memorandum of Understanding for the WIPO-Tongji Master’s Degree Program in Intellectual Property Law (WIPO MIP Program). The WIPO MIP Program, established in 2016, is of great significance. At present, four alumni of the SICIP have been officially inducted into WIPO.
