On June 16, 2022, Ms. Margarita Kato, an expert from the Arbitration and Mediation Center of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), held a professional lecture on private international law courses for students of SICIP. The lecture was entitled “Resolution of Intellectual Property and Technology Disputes through Mediation and Arbitration.” Ms. Kato introduced the intellectual property (IP) arbitration and mediation services provided by WIPO based on her extensive experience managing WIPO IP arbitration and mediation cases. Based on the advantages and characteristics of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), she analyzed professional issues, such as the scope of application, submission method, legal application, and procedural matters of relevant WIPO procedures in the lecture. At the end of the class, the students of SICIP asked the speaker a number of questions, and Ms. Kato answered them in detail.
