2014 Tongji Sino-German Economic Law Forum – “The Newest Development of Economic Law” jointly held by Tongji University, Konstanz University, Berlin-Humboldt University in Apr. 3 in Zonghe Building in Tongji University. Mr. Christian Bode, the director of Sino-German University projects of DAAD, attended the forum and delivered an opening speech. Prof. Shan Xiaoguang, Dean of Tongji Law School; Prof. Cheng Deli, deputy Dean of Tongji Law School; Prof. Reinhard Singer, Dean of Humboldt Law School; Prof. A. Stadler from Konstanz University and Prof. Gao Xujun, director of international affairs of Tongji Law School also attended the meeting with experts and scholars in this field from Humboldt University, Konstanz University, Tongji University, Fudan University, and East China University of Political Science and Law, etc.

During the discussion on Sino-German comparative research in the field of competition law, company Law, economic law, labor law, criminal law and intellectual property rights, etc., the participants expressed their own opinions on the related hot and controversial issues. On the basis of experience in European Union, Prof. Stadler pointed out that we should harmonize benefit between enterprises and consumers, and should differentiate contracts between enterprises and consumers with contracts among enterprises. She also emphasized that function of consumer group and regulations on group action would be strengthened in area of consumer protection. Prof. Gloeckner introduced detailed regulation of German and EU competition law and related legal precedents, and based on non-discrimination as a fundamental principal of market economy, he insisted that fair competition environment would be a basic condition of successful market economy. Prof. Wagner put forward that German related regulations should be restructured on the enterprise management responsibility problem. Prof. Gao Xujun introduced the newest development of Chinese company law, and suggested amendments of related company law regulations from Shanghai Free Trade Zone related regulations such as company registration.

As the result of cooperation among Tongji University, Konstanz University and Humboldt University, and also as the result of Sino-German Economic Law Institute, this successful forum has received a lot of attention from experts and students.
