September 28^thand October 3^rd, 2017, students of the two international programs (WIPO-Tongji MIP in Design and B&R MIP) have video conference lectures with WIPO IP Experts

Mr. Carsten Fink lectured on the topic of Economic Analysis of Law and IPR. He introduced Role of Regional Organizations to the students, including the background, main features, protected IPRs, working mechanism of the system and member states. Ms. Aida Dolotbaeva introduced theDevelopments in International Patent Law and the International Protection of Patents. Mr.Matthew Bryan made a presentation onthe Patent Cooperation Treaty.

During the lectures, WIPO IP Experts answered questions for the students patiently, which greatly aroused students’ interest in OAPI, ARIPO, GCC and EAPO. Students have asked questions in the history of the development of intellectual property rights, the mode of IPR protection and the scope of authorization in Africa and Euraia. All the experts gave Q&A section in order to help students to learn more knowledge in the limited lecture time.
