September 26th, 2017, Prof. Dr. Alessandro Cogo from the Law School of University of Turin as well as the Scientific Director of the WIPO LLM in IP gave lecture in General Introduction in IP for students of SICIP. The lecture mainly discussed on the sources and main principles of International IP Law and the influences brought by intellectual property in the global economy.
Prof. Cogo focused on the principle of Paris Convention, Berne Convention and TRIPS, including national treatment, priority of right and principle of most-favored nation, which play an indispensable role in the protection of intellectual property. He also answered many questions for the students patiently. It not only stimulates students' interest to learn more about international treaties, customary laws and the general principles of law recognized by civilized nations, but also provides the opportunities to promote international exchanges and develop an international perspective, which helped students have a deep understanding of the international cooperation between countries.
