Oct 25th, 2017, Ms. Intan Hamdan-Livramental, the Economic Officer in Economics and Statistics Division of WIPO, gave a video lecture in Economic Analysis of IPR. From the perspectives of data analysis and economics, she provided a clear view on the operation of the intellectual property system and the impact of intellectual property policies on the global economy.
According to the WIPO database, the total number of patent and trademark applications in the world had a tendency to rise from 1985 to 2015. Ms.Intan Hamdan-Livramental introducedseveral channels of obtaining data resources such as WIPO database, publications and related seminars, and analyzed the patent applications of inventions, utility models and designs in China. She also mentioned that it is important for patent owners to use patent systems to protect inventions and commercial activities.
