President of Leibniz University of Hannover and the Delegation Visit Shanghai International Intellectual Property College of Tongji University

On the morning of November 1st, in order to promote the cooperation between Law School of Leibniz University of Hannover and Shanghai International College of Intellectual Propertyof Tongji University, Dr. Volker Epping, President of Leibniz University of Hannover, along with the Delegation, visited Shanghai International College of Intellectual Property of Tongji University. Members of the Delegation are Ms. Brigitte Barden-Laeufer, Director of Foreign Affairs Department and Ms. Wang Yin, Director of Asian Affairs of the Foreign Affairs Department. Mr. Li Jianchang, Secretary of CPC General Branch of SICIP, Dr. Yu Xinmiao, Vice Dean of SICIP, Dr. Jiang Nan, Deputy Secretary of General Branch of SICIP attended the meeting.

Dr. Volker Epping made a brief introduction about the history of Leibniz University of Hannover, including the establishment of the Law School and Law Study, the mode of student training and relevant progress of its international programs. Dr. Volker Epping pointed out that IT law and IP law are two important research areas of the Law School of Leibniz University of Hannover and have been developing rapidly under the cooperation with Summer School, School-Enterprise Cooperation, Moot Court and law firms.

Dr. Yu Xinmiao showed to the Delegation about the college development, faculty resources and the practice of international programs of SICIP and said that the college encourages students to participate in international communication and hopes to expand the platform. International programs, which are currently in operation, such as WIPO-Tongji Master Degree Program, have received good response. Many of our students have harvested great experience of study and life during the exchange program in Leibniz University of Hannover.

Both sides expressed their willingness to deepen and expand cooperation, and conducted in-depth talks on the establishment process, the scope of enrollment, the curriculum and the sources of learning and living expenses, in order to create more opportunities for international academic communication.
