On February 1, 2018, in order to meet the teaching needs of the Design and Innovation course, SICIP organized a visit. Chinese and international students of 2017 WIPO program went to the Philips company. It was led by Associate Prof. Cheng Deli, and Prof. Zhou Hongtao from Shanghai international college of Design and Innovation. Some of the international students from the one Belt and one Road Program also attended.

At Philips, designer Hua Hao introduced the 100-year history of Philips to students. Under the guidance of the staff, the students visited the design studio, product laboratory and product showroom. At the end of the visit, the students asked the staff questions about technical secret protection and patent applications regarding product design.
