SICIP Cooperated with CNIPA and NIPTC to Carry Out Study Visit in Beijing (2018)

From July 16th to 19th, 2018students of the WIPO Program and B&R Program in SICIP of our university visited National Intellectual Property Training Center, the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) and the WIPO China Office to conduct learning and training activities.

On July 16th, the students arrived at Beijing. At 8:30 am on the 17th, at the opening ceremony of the Training Class for the Students Under China Government Scholarship on IP and WIPO-Tongji University Master’s Degree Program, Wang Jianjian from the Department of International Cooperation of SIPO and Gao Qiang from the National Intellectual Property Training Center welcomed the arrival of the students and introduced the educational cooperation relationship between the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Chinese government through SIPO, and then the representative of the college expressed gratitude to the reception of the National Intellectual Property Training Center.Subsequently, the staff from the Protection and Coordination Division of SIPO, and the Patent Administration Department gave lectures on the topic of China's national intellectual property strategy, China's intellectual property protection and enforcement, and China's patent administrative protection.

At 2:00 pm, the staff of the Patent Affairs Management Department ofSIPO and the Director of the Department of International Cooperation of SIPOgave a detailed introduction to the relevant information and development status of the Chinese Patent Examination System and theoperation of SIPO. In the Q&A session, students from different countries asked questions about China's intellectual property issues. Through the lectures, the students had a more comprehensive understanding of China's intellectual property related systems.

On the morning of July 18, the students visited SIPO. The staff of the reception hall of SIPO introduced the patent application and review process and the public service system in detail. Subsequently, under the leadership of the staff, the teachers and students visited the Patent Museum of SIPO and experienced the patent electronic approval system at the centralized monitoring center of SIPO.

In the afternoon, the students came to the WIPO China Office, Director Chen Hongbing and project officer Deng Yuhua welcomed the delegation, and the basic situation of  WIPO and its China office,  WIPO's global intellectual property services, as well as its cooperation relationship with the Chinese government was introduced. Director Chen Hongbing expressed good wishes to the students of WIPO program and the B&Rprogram.

On July 19th, the college delegates returned to Shanghai. With the strong support of SIPO, the National Intellectual Property Training Center and the WIPO China Office, the learning and training activities were carried out smoothly. Through the lectures and introductions of relevant responsible personnel, the students had a deeper and more intuitive experience of the Chinese intellectual property system, and also learned more about the current status and future development of the cooperation between the Chinese government andWIPO.
