SICIP Cooperated with CNIPA and NIPTC to Carry Out Study Visit in Beijing

From May 27 to 30, 2019, 44 students of the WIPO Program and B&R Program in SICIP of Tongji university under the guidance of deputy secretary of college, Ms. Jiang Nan and two teachers, Ms. Kong Weijia and Mr. Han Xingchen, visited the National Intellectual Property Training Center (NIPTC), the National Intellectual Property Administration (NIPA) to conduct learning and training activities.

At 9:00 am on May 28, at the opening ceremony of the Training Class for the Students Under China Government Scholarship on IP and WIPO-Tongji University Master’s Degree Program, Mr. Yang Cheng Rui, the deputy director from the Department of International Cooperation of NIPA welcomed the arrival of the students and introduced the educational cooperation relationship between the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Chinese government through SIPO, and then the representative of SICIP expressed gratitude to the reception of NIPTC. Subsequently, the staff from the Protection and Coordination Division of NIPA gave lectures on the topic of China's national intellectual property strategy, China's intellectual property protection and enforcement, and China's patent administrative protection.

At 2:00 pm on May 28, the staff of the Patent Affairs Management Department of NIPA gave a detailed introduction to the relevant information and development status of the Chinese Patent Examination System and NIPA. In the Q&A session, students from different countries asked questions about China's intellectual property issues. Through the lectures, the students had a more comprehensive understanding of China's intellectual property related system.

On the morning of May 29, the students visited NIPA. The staff of the reception hall of NIPA introduced the patent application and review process and the public service system in detail. Subsequently, under the leadership of the staff, the teachers and students visited the Patent Office Automation Control Center and Intellectual Property Museum of NIPA and made a better understanding of patent data storage monitoring system.

On May 30, under the arrangement of the staff of NIPA and NIPTC, the students came to Zhongguancun Intellectual Property Building in Beijing, visited Sanyou, Jijia and other intellectual property agency companies and law institutes, and learned about the current operation and main business contents of intellectual property service industry in China.

With the strong support of NIPA and NIPTC, the learning and training activities of the WIPO program students in SICIP were carried out smoothly. Through the lectures and introductions of relevant responsible personnel, the students had a deeper and more intuitive experience of the Chinese intellectual property system, and also learned more about the current status and future development of IP service industry in China.
