Third edition 2024-2025 of the Master's Degree in Intellectual Property with specialization in Industrial Property is offered jointly with the WIPO Academy and Tongji University (Shanghai, People's Republic of China).

  • Judicial Protection of IP Rights (for Master of Law) 

  • Protection of IPRs under Criminal Law (for Master of Law)

Admission requirements

The WIPO-Tongji MIP in Industrial Property is a Master's program open to Law and non-Law graduates:

  • A bachelor's degree;

  • One-year work experience;

  • English proficiency (IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 95 or equivalent proof of English proficiency);

  • Outstanding academic performance, such as academic transcript etc.

  • In possession of a valid passport for years 2024-2025

Application
Students can apply for Master of Law or Master of Management. Please find the steps of application in the brochure attached.

Applicants have to apply through both the WIPO Academy website and Tongji University.

Scholarships
20 scholarships (during full residential period) are available. WIPO provides a limited number of scholarships (including travel costs), the Chinese Government provides 15 scholarships (not including travel costs) with the coverage of travel costs financed by WIPO.
 
WIPO scholarships are awarded to:

  • government officials and persons working in the public sector such as universities, academies, and research and development institutions; and

  • candidates should be from developing countries or least developed countries (LDCs).


WIPO Scholarships cover:

  • Registration and tuitions fees;

  • Accommodation;

  • Subsistence allowance;

  • Travel expense; and

  • Medical insurance

Visa costs, if any, are at the expense of participants.

Award

Successful students will be awarded Master’s Degree in Intellectual Property (MIP) with specialization in Industrial Property by Tongji University on behalf of WIPO.


Teachers
Classes are delivered by eminent academics from Tongji University, professors and visiting lecturers from other leading universities in Europe and Asia, and reputed experts from WIPO and the China National Intellectual Property Administration 
(CNIPA).
