In recent years, Guozhiyuan has focused on frontier theoretical and practical issues in intellectual property under the new wave of scientific and technological revolution, closely aligning with major national and Shanghai strategic needs. The College actively conducts frontier theoretical research supporting comprehensive innovation and applied research promoting the development of strategic emerging industries. Since its establishment in November 2016, the College has undertaken:

· 5 Major Projects of the National Social Science Foundation,

· 2 Key Projects of the National Social Science Foundation,

· 1 National Key R&D Program Project,

· 21 National Natural Science Foundation General/Youth Projects (8 currently in progress),

· 17 National Social Science Foundation General/Youth Projects (10 currently in progress).
More than 50% of the faculty are engaged in ongoing national-level projects.

Looking forward, the College will continue to promote the development of the first-level interdisciplinary discipline of intellectual property, strengthen the cultivation of high-level, interdisciplinary IP talent, fully leverage its interdisciplinary and international advantages, actively serve the national strategy of building an IP powerhouse and advancing technological self-reliance, and support Shanghai in building a globally influential science and technology innovation center and an international intellectual property center city.
